Who is Dean Alan? He’s the busiest magician in the Washington D.C. area, that’s who! He’s performed at schools, private functions, fairs and festivals, television, country clubs, recreational centers, theaters and even the White House on numerous occasions.

As  the Wizard of Reading, he tours across the Mid-Atlantic region with his school assembly show on reading. As Carnegie-Artist of Mystery, he performs on television and recently appeared at the National Theatre in Wash D.C..

His interest in magic began many years ago when he saw a movie about the great magician Harry Houdini. Then he went to the library and began to check out books on magic and magicians. The rest as they say is history.

Dean is a graduate of the Chavez College of Magic. He is past president of the Society of American Magicians Assembly 252, and past regional vice president for the National Society of American Magicians.

Besides performing Dean Writes a bi-monthly column for the KIDabra Journal called ‘All Things Magical’. He has also co-written two books on escape artistry and is in the process of writing a book on Houdini.

When he is not performing Dean can often be found painting. In 2007, two of Dean’s paintings were featured on the covers of MAGIC magazine’. To see more of his artwork visit the site artistofmystery.com
